Robert Smitheram holds a Ph.D. in Chinese Literature from Stanford, and has lectured at a number of Universities in addition to doing research in China and Taiwan. Aside from translation, Robert Smitheram has also done work in Chinese language education and multilingual computing. He currently lives in Santa Barbara, California.
