John Balcom holds a Ph.D. in Chinese and Comparative Literature from Washington University in St. Louis, and lectures at the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. In addition to his work with Buddhist literature, John Balcom has completed many translations of Chinese poets and novelists both ancient and modern, including The City Trilogy by Chang Hsi-kuo and There’s Nothing I Can Do When I Think of You Late at Night by Naigian Cao.
